Members on an annual plan pay <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">$119 per year, while Prime student members pay $59 per year. As for monthly subscriptions, they cost $12.99 and $6.49 per month respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/help\/customer\/display.html?nodeId=201910360\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">subscribing to Amazon Prime<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, shoppers not only get special streaming, reading and shopping benefits (eg. access to lightning deals 30 minutes before non-Prime members, and exclusive-to-Prime-member deals like Prime Day), they also receive shipping perks.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Depending on where buyers live, being a Prime member means being <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/help\/customer\/display.html?nodeId=201910440\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">eligible for<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Free 2-hour shipping<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Free same-, one- and two-day shipping<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saturday shipping<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Release-date delivery<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At this point there are<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/amazon-surpasses-150-million-prime-subscribers-2020-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">over 150 million Prime members worldwide<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/546894\/number-of-amazon-prime-paying-members\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">112 million in the U.S.<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> alone).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to sell on Amazon Prime<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When it comes to selling Amazon Prime as a third-party seller, you have two options: Seller Fulfilled Prime and Fulfillment by Amazon.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP)<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While sellers who fulfill their own orders (FBM) are <a href=\"\/?p=26584\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">now able to sell Amazon Prime<\/a>, there is currently a waiting list. Regardless of your <\/span><a href=\"\/?p=23866\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">business model<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, by joining Amazon as an FBA seller your products will automatically be considered for Amazon Prime.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No waiting list. No official trial period. As an FBA seller, all you have to do to get that Prime badge on your listings is obtain and maintain good <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sellercentral.amazon.com\/gp\/help\/external\/200370550?language=en-US&amp;ref=mpbc_12880481_cont_200370550\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">seller-performance metrics<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While Amazon doesn&rsquo;t specify exactly what is required of FBA sellers to get and keep the Prime badge, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">they appear to place emphasis on the following<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Having an order defect rate of less than 1%<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Complying with Amazon&rsquo;s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sellercentral.amazon.com\/gp\/help\/external\/G200301050?language=en_US\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">listing and product policies<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Adhering to Amazon <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sellercentral.amazon.com\/gp\/help\/external\/GXLRKWL8L5BMSHWB?language=en_US&amp;ref=efph_GXLRKWL8L5BMSHWB_cont_G201100890\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">inventory storage limits<\/span><\/a>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, if you have slow moving inventory or a low &lsquo;Inventory Performance Index&rsquo; score, Amazon can limit your FBA storage<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><b>What if you&rsquo;re a new seller?<\/b><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you&rsquo;re new to Amazon, or just starting your Amazon-selling journey, don&rsquo;t worry.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Though it may take a little while to become a fully-fledged Prime seller due to the need of building up your seller metrics and\/or completing the SFP trial, there are things you can do in the meantime.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">First, make sure you do your <\/span><a href=\"\/?page_id=16759\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">product research<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to ensure you have a product that is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.junglescout.com\/resources\/articles\/product-niches-on-amazon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">high in demand and low in competition<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Then, when you know what you&rsquo;re going to sell and you&rsquo;ve found <\/span><a href=\"\/?page_id=24771\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the best supplier<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to manufacture it, <\/span><a href=\"\/?page_id=23950\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">create an optimized listing<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finally, put a solid launch plan in place to help you <\/span><a href=\"\/?p=467\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">generate reviews<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The size of the fee will depend on:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The dimensions of your product<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your product&rsquo;s shipping weight<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The size tier of your product<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The weight of your product&rsquo;s packaging<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But, if you are fulfilling your product orders yourself (<\/span><a href=\"\/?p=24116\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fulfillment by Merchant or FBM<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), then you won&rsquo;t have to pay additional Amazon fees. However, making sure your orders are fulfilled within Amazon&rsquo;s required time frame could increase your labor and shipping costs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Why should you sell Amazon Prime?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From a ready-to-buy customer base to an increased chance of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.junglescout.com\/resources\/articles\/amazon-buy-box\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">winning the Buy Box<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, there are many benefits to selling Amazon Prime.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Amazon Prime members are loyal<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Due to the fact that Prime members pay a monthly fee to <a href=\"\/?p=14079\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ensure speedy delivery<\/a> &mdash; and rather than let their Prime subscription go to waste &mdash; members are more likely to purchase from Amazon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In fact, according to a <a href=\"\/?page_id=27565\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">recent Jungle Scout survey<\/a>* of more than 1,000 consumers, 65<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">% of Amazon Prime members said they would describe themselves as &ldquo;brand loyal.&rdquo; Only 44% of non-Prime members said the same.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not only that, when asked where they would shop if they could only purchase products from one store, 75% of Prime members said they would shop on Amazon. For <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">non-Prime members, that number drops to 38%.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Amazon Prime messaging markets your product for you<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Getting past consumers to buy from you again can be difficult. Yet it&rsquo;s extremely important for the success of your business to turn those shoppers into repeat customers.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Not only is it more expensive for you to acquire new customers, repeat customers spend an average of 20% more than first-time buyers. Their conversion rate is much higher as well (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.geckoboard.com\/best-practice\/kpi-examples\/percent-returning-customers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">60-70%<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">More than three-quarters (87%) of Prime members think Amazon is a good company for shoppers, and 84% value being able to shop on the platform.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For non-Prime members, while those numbers are still high, they do drop considerably in comparison; 61% and 53% respectively.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Amazon Prime members are ready to buy<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prime members don&rsquo;t just go to Amazon first before trying other online stores; they also spend money on the site regularly and during<\/span><a href=\"\/?p=22462\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">major holidays<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> like Black Friday and<\/span><a href=\"\/?p=24921\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prime Day<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nearly two-thirds (60%) of Prime members <\/span><a href=\"\/?p=24921\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">plan to participate in Prime Day 2020<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, while an additional 33% said they might.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As for &ldquo;regular&rdquo; shopping, a significant portion (95%) of Prime members reported making a purchase on Amazon at least once a month; 64% stated that they shop on the site at least once a week. &nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the other hand, nearly a third (29%) of non-Prime members said they shop on Amazon only occasionally&mdash;less than once a month.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Amazon Prime members are willing to pay more<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unlike non-Prime members, shoppers who have a Prime subscription don&rsquo;t have to hit a minimum purchase amount to get free shipping. Regardless of price, if a <\/span><a href=\"\/?p=5151\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">product listing<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> has the Prime badge, members get free (and at least) two-day shipping.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And although product price doesn&rsquo;t factor into Prime members getting expedited shipping at no extra cost, they&rsquo;re actually willing to pay more to get just that.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over half (61%) of Prime members are willing to spend more on a product if it ships more quickly. Only 41% of non-Prime customers are willing to do the same.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Amazon Prime increases your chances to win the Buy Box<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While the Amazon Prime badge is a major factor in converting shoppers into customers, Amazon&rsquo;s Buy Box (the &lsquo;Add to cart&rsquo; button on a product&rsquo;s listing) plays a key role as well.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In fact, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.statista.com\/statistics\/266282\/annual-net-revenue-of-amazoncom\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">83% of Amazon&rsquo;s sales<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are generated through its Buy Box. For that reason, owning the Buy Box is extremely important.
